Slayer is an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, drummer Dave Lombardo and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya.
Slayer's fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax.
Slayer's current lineup consists of King, Araya, drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt, who initially joined as a touring member in 2011 before joining the band permanently after Hanneman's death in 2013.
Drummer Jon Dette was also a member of the band.

The tuning of the Bass on this record is E Standard (E-A-D-G). This is the first and last time Slayer ever tuned to E Standard.
They're just starting out so they haven't quite hit "their" sound or writing style at this point so there's a lot less of their trademark a-tonality and "whatever sounds evil" note choices on this record. It's more directly influenced by bands like Iron Maiden and Venom and some songs even have an almost 1-4-5 blues form (Black Magic, for example, goes from an E minor tonality up to A Major feel in places...)
The tuning of the Bass on this record is Eb Standard (Eb-Ab-Db-Gb) but it's tabbed out as if it's in E Standard for ease of reading. All Keys and any accidentals are therefore marked as per E Standard tuning unless otherwise specified in any notes for specific tabs.
The Slayer sound is defined by their use of accidentals and A-tonality in their note choices so, while I've taken steps to mark up the tabs as cleanly as possible with diatonic keys and Modes, they splat loads of random notes and intervals that don't belong anywhere simply because they sound cool (and they really do 👍🏽)
