Pantera is an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas, formed in 1981 by the Abbott brothers (guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul), and currently composed of vocalist Phil Anselmo, bassist Rex Brown, and touring musicians Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante.

The group’s best-known lineup consisted of the Abbott brothers along with Brown and Anselmo, who joined in 1982 and 1986, respectively.

The band is credited for developing and popularizing the subgenre of groove metal in the 1990s. Regarded as one of the most successful and influential bands in heavy metal history, Pantera has sold around 20 million records worldwide and has received four Grammy nominations.

This album is a mass of different tunings. No idea why, I guess it was just, "Hey, that's a great riff, try it down/up here..."

Not only that, Pantera have a tendency, like Megadeth, to use Chromaticism (all part of their bluesy, Texas vibe) and as a result a lot of their stuff, especially on this record, is very hard to pin down to a "key".

With this in mind, you're going to see a lot of interesting and spicy key signatures in here (and some places where there isn't one where you'd expect to see one!).

This has been done to try and make the tabs as easy to read and as clean as possible and it's meant using key signatures that correspond to Modes which might be a bit confusing but simply ignore them and play the notes where they're marked in the tab and you'll be fine 👍🏽
